Atrium Health Navicent Urges Medicaid Patients to Take Steps to Maintain their Coverage

Hey. Big Changes May Be Coming to Your Medicaid Coverage.

Georgia has begun the process of checking eligibility for all Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids members this month in what’s called a “redetermination process.” Atrium Health Navient physicians urge all Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids members to update their contact information at gateway.ga.gov as soon as possible, and remain informed about their individual redetermination process and timeline.

"Access to Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids benefits is vital for the health of more than 2.7 million Georgians. Atrium Health Navicent is committed to partnering with the community to help these patients avoid any interruptions in benefits or health care,” said Atrium Health Navicent President Delvecchio Finley. “If you’re currently a Medicaid recipient or if you’re a parent or guardian for a PeachCare for Kids member, please don’t delay in updating your contact information so you can be reached during this redetermination period.”

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, eligibility for Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids members was checked annually. Requirements were paused due to COVID-19 pandemic protections, but with the federal government ending the COVID-19 public health emergency, every state will now be required to check to see who is still eligible to receive Medicaid and other benefits like PeachCare for Kids.

Over the next 14 months, the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) will review eligibility for all members. If a member is still eligible, their coverage will be renewed. If you think you or your family may be in enrolled in either program, now is the time to take action to learn your status. If you are enrolled, be sure to log in to update your contact information.

Georgia Medicaid members can update their information in the following ways:

  1. Online at Georgia DHS’ benefits website at gateway.ga.gov.

  2. In person at your local DFCS office. For Macon-Bibb County residents, the office is located at 456 Oglethorpe St. in Macon. If you live in another county, find the address of your local office here: dfcs.georgia.gov/locations.

  3. By phone at 877-423-4746.

After providing updated contact information, DHS will communicate with Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids members via U.S. mail or email, depending on a member’s selected preference. You’ll receive updates, resources and alerts related to your status.
