Since their inception, eVisits have been a convenient, affordable way to get virtual care for minor conditions without an appointment. Thanks to an Atrium Health Navicent program expansion, patients can now complete an eVisit with the Atrium Health Navicent doctors and nurses they already know and trust.
An eVisit is a virtual care option accessed via the MyAtriumHealth website, or the MyAtriumHealth application available on android and iPhones. Care is provided entirely through secure messaging — no appointment, phone call or video chat is needed. All you need is your MyAtriumHealth account and a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet connection. Be prepared to share details about your insurance, medications and allergies as well.
To schedule an eVisit, simply log in either at MyAtriumHealth.org or using the MyAtriumHealth application. Select “Use Symptom Checker” from the menu and answer a few questions about your symptoms. If an eVisit is the best care option, you’ll be asked for additional information and a member of your care team will reply via a secure MyAtriumHealth message in an average of 12 to 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. The message will include a diagnosis and treatment plan, as well as a prescription if needed.
Available at select locations to start, this new feature makes getting virtual care better, easier and more personal than ever. An eVisit can be used for non-urgent medical conditions that still require medical attention, like minor cold and sinus symptoms, knee pain and UTIs.
"There are so many times when everyday life — balancing transportation, work schedules, childcare, and other obligations — can make it difficult to schedule an in-office visit with a doctor when you’re feeling ill. Now, with expanded eVisits, patients can get treated by the doctors they know and trust, all via secure messaging. This is just another way that Atrium Health Navicent is expanding access to quality health care for patients in central and south Georgia,” said Dr. Sandy Duke, chief clinical officer at Atrium Health Navicent.
Check with your insurance provider to see if eVisits are covered by your specific plan. If your doctor cannot give a diagnosis and treatment plan at the end of your eVisit, you won’t be charged.
